Note on Our Indoor-Only Policy:
The safety of our foster cats is paramount to us. For this reason, we have an indoor-only policy. Keeping cats indoors protects them from various hazards such as road accidents, predation, and traps set by councils to control stray populations. Indoor cats are also less likely to harm local wildlife. It's essential to understand that being 'outdoors' poses risks to cats at all hours—not just at night. If you're committed to providing a safe and secure environment, you'll need to adhere to our indoor-only policy.

Time: Basic needs take time, consider the time for training, grooming, entertainment, veterinary care, playtime?

Pets left alone for large periods of time may become destructive or noisy; do you have a plan to prevent boredom?

As a foster carer, we ask that you cover expenses related to food, litter, and keeping flea and worm treatment up to date while an animal is in your care. We periodically receive donations of flea and worm treatment, and we try to share those around.

You will need to keep an eye out for any skin conditions, watery eyes, sneezing or sickness and let us know as soon as possible if you notice anything out of the ordinary.

Fostering plays a crucial role in animal rescue. Without the support of dedicated foster carers, many animals would not survive. The Mini Rescue conducts thorough screenings of all prospective foster carers and performs home visits to ensure the welfare of our animals. Please understand that our application form is designed to be comprehensive because the well-being of the animals is our utmost priority. All information you provide will be held in the strictest confidence and used solely to evaluate this application.

As a Foster Carer for The Mini Rescue, you will receive the support you need; you're not in this journey alone. Are you aware that many rescue animals come from unstable backgrounds and may initially be fearful or skittish? These animals may require some time to adapt, build trust, and become integrated into your family. Additionally, animals coming into foster care may not always be in optimal health and could require special care. Under normal circumstances, foster carers are expected to provide food, safety, security, and love to the animals they are caring for.

THE FOSTER CARER’S AGREEMENT

The purpose of this application is to find a suitable match between the animal in need and a potential foster family. At The Mini Rescue, we are fully committed to the safety and well-being of our rescued animals. We understand that every situation is unique and promise to consider all applications on their individual merits. Please note that submitting this application does not automatically guarantee that you will be approved to foster the specified animal. Each application is subject to careful review, and we will communicate our decision to you as promptly as possible.

By completing this application, you acknowledge that you are entering into a binding agreement with The Mini Rescue to foster a rescue animal. Please confirm that you have read this entire agreement attentively and that you fully understand all its aspects before signing.

I agree that this pet is being fostered as a companion pet. That the pet will be provided with proper food, water, shelter, entertainment, and access to authorised veterinary care. That the pet will be given a loving home and will not be isolated without interaction.

I commit to keeping my cat strictly indoors only (with the exception of a harnesses or secure cat enclosures for outdoor time).

I understand that cats may damage some household or personal items, if this occurs, I will not seek compensation from The Mini Rescue.

If the animal is currently under veterinary care, I understand that I will be notified of any current medical Conditions as far as The Mini Rescue has been made aware.

I understand that any veterinary problems that now may arise with this pet, including serious illnesses requiring emergency care or surgery and costs are to be approved by The Mini Rescue.

I understand that in the event that I can no longer foster the animal, due to injury, illness, accident or any other reason and are unable to fully care for the pet, I will notify The Mini Rescue immediately and will work with The Mini Rescue to place the pet in another approved foster home.

I agree to be available to transport the animal to and from The Mini Rescue partner vet for de-sexing and vaccinations when due.

I indemnify and hold The Mini Rescue free from any and all liability arising from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, action, judgment of every kind and description which may occur to or be suffered by me, members of my household, or any third parties by reason of activities arising out of this agreement.

I understand that sometimes along with a rescue animal there comes a story, I will at all times keep these stories confidential within the team at The Mini Rescue to ensure that no slandering or bad publicity takes place.

I understand that the pet and any litter it may produce remains the property of The Mini Rescue and is theirs to keep or rehome.

That I could be responsible for any vet bills as a result of avoidable accidents or incidents – this will be decided by The Mini Rescue on a case-by-case basis.

I am prepared to offer and facilitate Meets and Greets to prospective adopters in my home.

I understand that although The Mini Rescue screens all animals and carers prior to placing, it takes no responsibility for the behaviour, or actions of the animals placed in foster care.

I understand that I accept animals from The Mini Rescue at my own risk and can reject or return to The Mini Rescue any animal they have asked me to care for.
