Opening your home to a foster animal is more than just providing shelter—it's offering a stepping stone to a pet’s new life. By becoming a foster carer, you create a nurturing environment for pets in need, directly aiding in their journey towards finding permanent, loving homes.

Choose Your Foster Path

Firstly, decide if you would like to foster a cat or a dog or you may be able to foster both. Our system now supports both cat and dog fostering applications. If you're drawn to both, please complete a separate form for each, ensuring we have all necessary details to support your fostering journey. Your choice helps animals thrive before finding their forever homes.

Fill Out the Form

To start the journey as a foster carer, you'll need to complete an application form. We've made it convenient for you to choose how you'd like to apply—either through our online form for immediate submission or by downloading a PDF version that you can fill out at your leisure and email back to us at contact@theminirescue.org.au.

Online Application Instructions:

If you choose to complete the form online, please have the following documents on hand to process the application, if you complete it online, it cannot be saved midway through.

• Proof of Identity: Your Driver's License, Passport, or any official ID.
• Proof of Residence:
• If you own your home - A current rates notice or similar document.
• If you rent - The first page of your lease, especially sections about pet permissions.
• Pet Approval Documentation: For renters, if pet conditions are not specified in your lease, written consent from your landlord or property manager is necessary.

• CAT FOSTER Home Safety: Images of your of your screen doors and windows to make sure your cat will be safe and can't escape. (max.10 photos).
• DOG FOSTER Home Safety: Images of your fencing and gates to ensure a secure outdoor environment for a dog (max.10 photos)
